The 23rd BMVC will be held in Surrey, UK 3-7 Sept 2012 with easy access from both Gatwick and Heathrow airports. BMVC is one of the major conferences on the vision calendar and this year promises to be as exciting as ever. We received well over 400 submissions and accepted 8% of these for oral presentation and a further 24% for posters. Maintaining the traditional single track, reviewers and area chairs from all over the world have worked hard to put together the highest quality program possible. BMVC2012 is hosted at the University of Surrey, in the heart of the Home Counties within beautiful surrounding countryside but only 40 mins by train to central London and all that it has to offer. Highlights for the conference are a welcome reception at Guildford Cathedral, a Banquet at Brooklands Museum, the birthplace of motor sport with exclusive evening access to exhibits for delegates.

With invited talks from Prof Stan Sclaroff, Boston University and Prof. Jiri Matas, Czech Technical University and two tutorials on “Large-scale and larger-scale image search” by Dr Herve Jegou, INRIA and “MAP inference in Discrete Models” by Dr Pushmeet Kohli from Microsoft Research, BMVC2012 has an exciting programme for everyone. Well, perhaps not everyone, but all those in computer vision and related topics 🙂

We are currently finalising the programme but a list of accepted oral and poster papers is available here http://bmvc2012.surrey.ac.uk/papers.php
