Open Invitation to Contribute to the Meta-data Standard for Micro-credentials

Deadline for inputs 1 December 2019

Further to the work in the European Higher Education Area, a draft meta-data standard for recording recognition-data, more precisely for documenting the ECTS and qualifications including micro-credentials is currently being prepared.

This open invitation is to call for inputs on the above-mentioned draft text:

Through the form on this page, you are invited to contribute the Draft Meta-Data Standard for recording Micro-Credentials.

Inclusion of your online inputs may be positively evaluated based on such factors as the number of like-minded comments received, the source of contribution including governmental, IGOs, NGOs as well as institutions of teaching and learning, and a balance of geographical representation.

This work is being done within the MicroHE – Support Future Learning Excellence through Micro-Credentialing in Higher Education (Erasmus+, KA3) project which aims to improve the recognition and transfer of learning between different educational organizations and the world of work while maintaining the European tradition of high-levels of student-protection provided through systems of accreditation and quality assurance. From gathering the state of the art in micro-credentialing in European Higher Education today, through forecasting the impacts and examining the adequacy of European recognition instruments, the project proposes a meta-data standard to develop an online clearinghouse to facilitate recognition, transfer, portability of micro-credentials in Europe.
